Yesterday I was watching a program on TV regarding teleportation. For your information, teleportation is a method by which a object can be transported from one place to other place within no time. Even though I had heard about it previously, I thought of doing some research on this. I went through the net and found interesting stuffs.
Probably people who have read the ancient mythological stories might have heard of NARADA Muni who can go from one place to other or seen famous TV serial like Star treck where people just vanish and reappear in some other place (as shown in TV). This type of transportation is extensively used in Mahabharat (Hindu mythological story) also.
What is happening on this now?
Many scientist around the world are working on this. They are even trying to move an atom from one place to other to some extent. The basic idea is to collect all the information regarding an item and transfer them to other place by some means and reconstruct the item. Looks interesting !!!. The research itself is in nascent stage and needs lot of efforts even to make a initial breakthrough. For more details click here
How it will impact us?
Imagine you are able to move from your native town to your place of work in few seconds. Imagine that you can travel around the world in few seconds and see all the things you wanted to see. No need for any bus, rail, car or plane. The roads will look empty. Morning you can have breakfast in Mumbai then teleported to New York for your work, have lunch at Paris, go to a meeting in Japan during afternoon, enjoy your evening and dinner in Las Vegas and come back to home late night. Looks impossible!!!!. But a century back nobody would have thought about talking with some one far away without any wires ( Mobile phones) and seeing a far away information sitting at home ( Internet). What looked impossible few years backs is quite possible today and what is impossible now may be/will be possible in future.
