Raise of Mumbai Indians & Fall of Deccan Chargers ….

Today again Mumbai Indians registered one more win and Deccan Chargers one more loss. Mumbai Indians defeated Deccan Chargers by 25 runs. Batting first Mumbai Indian made 178/7 in 20 overs thanks to again some good batting by Sanat and Abhijit Nayar. However Deccan chargers lost some early wickets and mid innings effort by Venugopal Rao could not help Deccan Chargers clinch the match.

Mumbai Indian’s efforts are appreciable and team deserves a great applause. With 6 back to back wins, they are now the strong contenders of the tournament, They started very badly,lost 4 matches in a row. Then followed harbahjan saga, failure of Sanat Jaysuriya and injury of Sachin. With all these odds they regrouped again first under the captaincy of Shaun Pollack and then Sachin. Sanat regained his form and then just exploded. The team has all the chances of going in to semi finals now.

I have no word to say anything about Deccan Chargers. See the individual performance of the team members. Adam Gilchrist, Symonds, Rohit Sharma, Venu Gopal Rao are all top run getters in this tournament,but till now the team is able to win only 2 matches. Unlike Bangalore, which is always called test team, Deccan Chargers have all T20 specialists.Their combination is just not able to work and give results. When their batsmen perform, bowlers fail and vice verse. The team now atleast have to  win few of the remaining matches to gain some respect in the points table.

Shaun Marsh’s Knock eclipses brilliant performance by Rohit Sharma …

Once Again high profile team of Deccan chargers lost the match.  The Kings XI Punjab defeated them by 7 wickets yesterday at Hyderbad. This is their fourth defeat in five matches.In spite of their defeat one person stood out from the rest of the team. Rohit Sharma, Young Indian Player produced a brilliant knock of 75 runs and helped Deccan chargers to get respectable total of 164 Runs. It was very nice to see this young lad, who singlehandly took charge of the situation and produced some extraordinary shots.

But his knock was soon eclipsed by another yound Lad from Kings XI Punjab. Shaun Marsh, son of ex. Australian cricketer Geoff Marsh, played a notable innings of 84 runs and made sure that Kings XI Punjab reached its target very easily and win by 7 wickets.

Overall, it was very nice to see both these guys batting very confidently showing maturity of experienced players in spearheading the batting of respective teams. Both these guys are bonus to their respective teams and great cricketers in making.

Seriel Kisser Emran Hashmi gets one more kiss at IPL … One more way of getting publicity

During break of yesterday’s Match between Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab, serial kisser Emran Hashmi was spotted dancing with Cheer leaders of Deccan Chargers. After the dance was over, two cheer girls kissed Emran Hashmi in cheeks leaving impression on his cheeks. Unaware of this, Emran Hashmi even gave a interview to a TV channel with the kiss impression on his cheek.

It is not sure , which team he is supporting or about his interest in cricket. But he was there for more than just cricket. All this was for getting publicity for his forthcoming film “Jannat”. Who else apart from bollywood stars know to capitalise any situation to take advantage and get publicity ?

Gilchrist Fires ….. Shows Mumbai Indians 4th defeat

Today it was a battle for survival between Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers. Both the teams having lost 3 matches were desperate to win this match. But Finally Adam Gilchrist was too heavy for Mumbai Indians and he easily led Deccan chargers to win the match by 10 wickets. The day clearly belonged to Adam Gilchrist.

Adam Gilchrist meant business today. In all 3 previous outings, he was not able to fire and prove his worth. But today he showed who Gilchrist is and answered all those criticizing him. His 100 came in just 42 balls and he ended up scoring 109 ( Not out) runs off  48 balls.

Deccan chargers is quite a relieved side today with their first win. The team of such great players has to continue the same rhythm and win few more matches to be a top contender for IPL DLF cup. If Symonds,Gilchrist and Afridi are in form, then no team can stop them.

On the other hand, Mumbai Indian are not able to come out of their loosing habit. Just coming out of Harbhajan controversy it is very difficult to regain momentum. Both Robin Uttappa and Sanat Jayasuriya  are not able show good cricket and they seem to be highly overpriced cricketers. Only young lad Abhijit Nayar is able to impress again and again with his mature cricket. The Mumbai Indians bowling is also not up to the mark. Shaun Pollack has lot of jobs to do. Sachin has to join to survive the Mumbai Indians team.

Sania Mirza Supporting Deccan Chargers…..

In new addition of celebrtities supporting IPL teams, Indian Tennis player, Sania Mirza is supporting for Deccan Chargers. Sania, basically from Hyderbad was seen today cheering for Hyderbad team Deccan Chargers against their match with Rajasthan royals. But her team disappointed her by loosing their 3rd consecutive match. Lets atleast hope Sanias support will bring some good luck to Deccan Chargers

Shane Warne leads Rajsthan Royals from underdogs to Favourites..

In one of the most trilling matches, where fortunes swinged between the two teams till the last over, Shane Warne proved his worth. He snatched the victory in last over by hitting 4,6,6 in 3 bals to register 3 wickets win for his team Rajasthan Royals against fancied Deccan Chargers.

The way in which Shane Warne has lead his team is incredible. He came to bat at difficult time, didn’t loose his patience and turned the match towards Rajasthan Royals. His captaincy is well appreciable and with back to back victory, Rajasthan royals,who were once termed as underdogs due to lack of star power, are now serious contender for the DLF cup. They have now Aouth African Gream Smith who proved his presence today by scoring 71 runs. Also Yousuf Pathan & Kaif regaining their forms, Shane Warne will have a very capable team.

I am very sad for Deccan charger. Today they played well but could not win. Andrew Symonds showed his worth by scoring 116 runs off 53 balls. It is very disappointing to see Deccan chargers loosing three consecutive matches in spite of having so many talented players. They need some dashing captain now in place of VVS Lakshman, who seems to be withdrawn. Let’s hope they will break this loosing habit and win their next match

4,6,4,6,4,6 ….. Numbers Virendra Sehwag Likes Most

Its Viru Again !!!! Today Sehwag, Delhi daredevils Captain smashed Deccan Chargers Bowlers all around to score 94 runs off 41 balls and was instrumental in 9 wickets victory over Deccan Chargers.

In his traditional style Viru was in no mood to slowdown. He took Deccan Bowlers one by one and was completely unstoppable with his amazing strokes. What was more interesting, his scores of 4,6,4,6,4,6 in a single over of Andrew Symonds. Symonds very rarely has such a bad spell. But with Viru around, anything is possible to any  Bowler

Deccan Chargers Second Loss… Why they went wrong

Deccan Chargers were conseidered to be favourites for winning the IPL DLF Cup prior to start of the tournment. The team is having few very good players like Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist, Rohit sharma, Chaminda Vyas, VVS Lakshman, RP Singh and Shahid Afridi. All these players are individually excellent players and key members of respective country teams. But now they are danger. Today Deccan Chargers lost their second consecutive match in IPL tournament to Delhi dare devils by 9 wickets. The match was almost one sided with no resistance or fightback from Deccan Chargers.

What went wrong??? Too many Individual performers who could not put together their skills and failed as a team or was it a casual attitude. Somehow the seriousness and urge to win was missing in Deccan charger Players Today. One exception off course is Young Lad Rohit Sharma, who is improving day by day and has a bright Future

How could one explain for such a poor performance of players like Symonds and Gilchrist. During bidding process of players for IPL teams, Deccan Chargers( Owner of Deccan Chargers) had aggressively bid for Symonds ( at Rs. 5.4 Crores,his price is next only to MS Dhoni). But where is the return on investment. Both Symonds and Gilchrist need to do some self Analysis and come out fully charged for the next match and show that they are worth of their price.
